Critical Exposure's goal is to help students and organizations advocate more effectively for excellence and equity in public education. By empowering young people to develop skills as documentary photographers and advocates, Critical Exposure exposes citizens and policymakers to the realities of our current two-tiered education system as seen through the eyes of the students who confront those realities each day. Through this approach Critical Exposure works to secure policy changes in order to ensure that all children have access to an excellent, equitable public education, fulfilling this nation's promise of providing all children with an opportunity to succeed.
The DC Alliance of Youth Advocates (DCAYA) is a coalition of youth-engaged organizations, youth, and concerned residents formed to ensure that all District of Columbia youth have access to high-quality and affordable developmental opportunities. DCAYA accomplishes their mission through policy advocacy, networking, and youth empowerment. DCAYA envisions a community where no youth is considered at-risk and where all are respected as valued community members. To this end, they work to establish structured opportunities for adolescents to become safe, healthy, resilient, and confident community members.
